2010 Wyoming Farmers Market Conference

The Wyoming Farmers’ Marketing Association will host their 4th Annual Farmer’s Market Conference on March 19-20, 2009 at Sheridan College’s, Watt Agricultural Center in Sheridan.

The conference really is really two events in one. On Friday March 19th there will be a Farmer Market Manager Certification course. This program is designed to give market managers information on market planning, conflict resolution, marketing, and food safety requirements. Those who pass the test will receive a certificate showing they have completed the training and understand the information presented.

During the Farmers Market Conference on March 20, there will be a full day of seminars focused on Preserving the Harvest, Relationship Marketing, Organic Certification and Production, Season Extension, Community Supported Agriculture, High Tunnel Construction and small grant writing. With such a wide variety of information and educational opportunities available during the conference, it is an a great opportunity for market vendors, market managers, master gardeners, educators, specialty crop farmers, and back yard gardeners from around the state to come learn, network and share ideas.

The cost for the Wyoming Farmers’ Marketing Conference is $35.00 for non association members and $25 for association members. The conference also includes the Wyoming Farmers Marketing Assoc. annual meeting, a reception on Friday night and the annual Wyoming Grown luncheon.

Registration cost for the Market Manager Certification course is $25.00 for non association members and free for association members.
