OSHA proposes $217,000 in fines against US Postal Service for electrical hazards at Denver mail processing facility

DENVER - The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited the U.S. Postal Service for alleged willful and serious violations of safety standards at the Denver Network Distribution Center in Denver, for exposing workers to electrical hazards. (read more...)

New OSHA proposal to improve worker protection from injury and death on walking-working surfaces

Company fined more than $1.6 million after worker suffocates in grain bin

OSHA has issued 23 citations against the South Dakota Wheat Growers Association for the total disregard it showed for its employees’ lives by allowing a worker to enter an unsafe silo where he was buried and suffocated beneath a mound of grain. OSHA fined the company $1,610,000 after inspectors concluded that the Dec. 2009 death at its McLaughlin, S.D., grain handling operation could have easily been prevented by implementing required safety precautions. Company fined more than $130,000 after worker’s hand is partially amputated by unsafe machine

OSHA inspectors found that a motorized saw at the Yonkers, N.Y., plant of H&H Woodworking Inc. cut off part of a worker’s hand because the machine was not equipped with required safety features. (read more...)

Wyoming Innovation Marketplace launches

Eagle Bronze sends product to China that was originally supposed to be “Made In China”

Eagle Bronze Foundry in Lander has been casting for artist Arturo DiModica for the last five years. DiModica is known for his "Charging Bull" in New York City. Now, a version of that bull in bronz that was cast here in Wyoming will be installed on the Shanghai Bund. (read more...)
