David began his career at Southwest Research Institute specializing in material testing of advanced composite materials. While there he also designed several test fixtures and an environmental preconditioning system. Continuing these activities as a University of Wyoming research engineer, he eventually joined the faculty, teaching courses in composite materials, solid mechanics, mechanical and electronic design, and systems analysis. He retired as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering in 2014. His research included composite material testing, analysis, design, and fabrication. Throughout his career at UW he worked with small to mid-sized businesses to design and fabricate prototype products. Even though many of these consultations did not directly involve composite materials, he learned much about the challenges small businesses face in taking a product idea from concept to market. He is excited to help Manufacturing Works continue its work, while evolving to address future opportunities. Our goal is to partner with you for your continuing success.
